Harold James Van Patten was the eldest of two children born to John Henry and
Odelia (Mullholand) Van Patten on 22DEC1898 in Menominee, Michigan and
died 18FEB1957 in Yorba Linda, California. About 1921, he was married to
Norma B. Erwin who was born 30JAN1901 in California and died 03JUL1970 in
Yorba Linda, California.
Harold came to California with his parents in 1909. Harold bought a 1907 Ford
Model T "Torpedo" racing car from racing legend, Barney Oldfield, after
watching him win a race with it at Barley Field in Brea, California.
Harold also owned a ranch and grew oranges and avocados.
Harold and Norma had two children, Harold, Jr. and Erwin William.
